Employment and Genetic Testing
Surveys conducted in the early stages of the genetic revolution (ca. 1990) indicated that 85% did not approve of the idea of genetic testing being involved in the selection of individuals for employment.(US General Social Survey 1990)
There are however arguments that can be put in each direction, and in some circumstances it might be considered appropriate. For example if genetic information showed that an apparently healthy person had a very increased risk of suffering terminal heart failure, then would you want such a person flying your aeroplane?
